Fraudulent activity using mobile devices can result in financial loss, negative credit ratings and emotional stress.

Casphone Mobile take your privacy seriously and we are continually reviewing our systems & processes to ensure we are doing all we can to protect you from any type of fraud activity.

Things to look for:

  • Calls or SMS Pretending to be from a known company you trust & know and ask for your personal details.
  • Calls or SMS that say you have won a prize / Money ~ Disguise their number/s, to make it look like they’re calling locally (Spoofing)
  • Recorded messages saying your service is disconnected or to be disconnected and request for a payment

What to do:

  • Don’t answer if you don’t know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail first. If the caller leaves a number, check that it matches the one on their website.
  • Don’t reply or click on any links in text messages
  • Don’t share your personal details (password, account numbers and other sensitive information) with people or online on any social media platforms
  • Block callers – Block numbers that look suspicious
  • Use a password on your mobile. Create strong passwords/pins, face recognition and/or thumb print (depending on the features available on your mobile handset)
  • Instal Anti-virus on your work / home computer
